WalkthroughAds is run by [company name].

We play two roles under UK data protection law. For your account, billing and use of the service we are the controller. For the photos you upload and the videos we make from them, we act as your processor: you decide what goes in them and what they are for, and we handle them only to provide the service to you (section 8).

• Account details — your name, email address and the dealership or business you belong to, plus who else is on your team.
• Billing details — your plan, credit balance and payment history. Card details go straight to Stripe; we never see or store your card number.
• Photos and videos — the listing photos you upload, what we work out about them (such as which side of the vehicle each one shows), and the videos we make.
• Usage records — which videos you made, with what settings, and the credits each one used.
• Technical data — IP address, browser and device details, and server logs, which our hosting provider records when you use the site.
• Messages — anything you send us by email.

• To provide the service — running your account, making your videos and taking payment. Our basis is performing our contract with you.
• To keep it working and secure — fixing faults, preventing abuse and protecting accounts. Our basis is our legitimate interest in running a reliable, safe service.
• To tell you about your account — for example that a video is ready or a payment failed. These are service messages, not marketing.
• To keep financial records — invoices and payment history. Our basis is our legal obligation to keep accounts.

Your video is made by an AI video model that uses your photos as reference. Before that, a separate AI model looks at each photo to suggest which angle of the vehicle it shows, so the camera goes round in the right order — you check and confirm that suggestion before anything is made.

To do this we send your photos to fal.ai, which runs the video model, and to Anthropic, which runs the angle model. They process the photos to return a result to us. We do not use your photos to train AI models, and we do not sell them or use them for any purpose other than making your videos.

We use these providers to run the service. Each processes personal data only on our instructions, under a written contract.

We will also share information if the law requires it, or with a buyer if the business is ever sold — in which case this policy would continue to apply to your data.

Several of these providers are based in, or store data in, the United States. Where personal data leaves the UK, we rely on the protections UK law provides for it: the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework where the provider is certified, or the UK International Data Transfer Addendum to the standard contractual clauses where it is not. You can ask us for details of the safeguard used for any provider.

• Uploaded photos are deleted automatically 90 days after upload. We keep a record that they existed (such as how many there were), not the images.
• Finished videos are kept while your account is open, so your share links keep working. You can ask us to delete any of them sooner.
• Account details are kept while your account is open and deleted within 30 days of you asking us to close it.
• Billing records are kept for six years, as UK law requires for business accounts.
• Server logs are kept by our hosting provider for a short period, usually days, for security and fault-finding.

Listing photos can show things that identify someone — a number plate, a person in the background, a reflection, the inside of a home. Where they do, you are the controller of that data and are responsible for having the right to use it. We process it only to make your video, keep it private to your account, and delete the originals as set out above.

The video model is instructed not to add people or readable text to videos, but you should still check every video before you publish it.

We only use cookies the site needs to work: keeping you signed in (set by Clerk) and taking payment securely (set by Stripe at checkout). We do not use advertising or analytics cookies, so there is nothing to opt out of. If we ever add analytics, we will ask first.

Under UK data protection law you can ask us to:

• give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• correct anything that is wrong
• delete your data
• restrict or object to how we use it
• send your data to you or another provider in a usable format

Email hello@walkthroughads.com and we will reply within one month. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk, though we would appreciate the chance to put it right first.

Uploaded photos are private to your account and only ever shown through signed links that expire. Data is encrypted in transit, and access to our systems is limited to what is needed to run them. A finished video becomes publicly viewable only if you share or embed it.

If we change how we use your data, we will update this page and the date at the top, and email account holders about anything significant before it takes effect.
